Austin L. Crepps

Austin Lee Crepps, age 27, of Mendon, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at his residence. He was born September 28, 1998, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Dave Crepps and Sherri Whiles (née Thomas).

He attended Unity High School and later graduated from Quincy High School. Austin was employed at Knapheide in Quincy.

Austin participated in a variety of activities throughout his life. As a young man, he joined the Boy Scouts and spent time at the YMCA. He enjoyed every sport and wrestled for QHS during high school. Austin also loved singing karaoke, playing video games, and listening to all types of music, especially country, rock, and rap. Though he was often reserved, he was deeply loyal to his close friends and family.

On May 16, 2021, Austin was baptized at The Crossing in Lima, Illinois.

He is survived by his parents, Dave (Kim) Crepps of Mendon and Sherri (Louie) Whiles of Novelty, Missouri; his brother, Dennis (Amber) Crepps of Mendon; his step-sisters, Nicole (Robert) Bergman of Burnside, Illinois; Krystina (Jim) Logsdon of Canton, Missouri; Jennifer Hardy of Harrisburg, Missouri; and Halia Whiles of Keokuk, Iowa; his step-brothers, Robbie Whiles of Keokuk, Iowa, Sam Whiles and Damen Whiles of Sterling, Illinois; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois. Memorial contributions in memory of Austin are suggested to the family.

Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
