B. “Lois” Asher, age 81, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 3:46 PM at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born on October 28, 1941, in Quincy, the daughter of Paul and Marie Brackensick Harms. She married Robert Asher on September 4, 1965, in West Point, Illinois. He survives in Quincy, Illinois.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Russell Asher of Hannibal, Missouri and 1 daughter, Amy Christine (Kevin) Witkowski of Cary, Illinois; two brothers: The Rev. David (Brenda) Harms of Spencer, Iowa and Stanley (Debbie) Harms of Camp Point, Illinois; one sister: Sheryl (Harvey) Reinhard of Spring Hill, Florida; and five grandchildren: Alivia, Jasper, Dillan, Connor, and Brady.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
Lois graduated from Mendon High School and attended North Central Bible College, Minneapolis, Minnesota. She had worked as the secretary to the comptroller of Precision Twist Drill, Crystal Lake, Illinois. As an early riser, she exercised at 3:00 AM every day. She and her husband enjoyed snowmobiling.
She was a member of Riverside Community Church in Quincy, Illinois where she served as a musician. She was an excellent vocalist, and participated in singing groups, where she was able to share her love of Jesus.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2023, between 1:00 and 3:00 PM at Triplett Funeral Homes in Mendon. The funeral service will follow at Triplett Funeral Homes of Mendon at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dennis Amsler officiating.
A private burial will be later at the Mendon City Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Riverside Community Church or Shiloh Christian children’s Ranch.
