SUTTER, Ill. -- Betty Jean Wollbrink, 82, of Sutter, died on Sunday (Aug. 17, 2014) in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Betty was born on March 13, 1932, in Quincy to the late Harry Glenn and Jennie Priepot Seward. She married Leland John Wollbrink on Dec. 1, 1955, in Loraine. Leland died May 16, 1990.

Betty became a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ in Tioga in 1957. She sang in the church choir, served two years on the Cradle Roll and Pastor Search Committee, participated in the Women's Fellowship, and was a member of the Community Get Together Club. She volunteered at North Adams Home in Mendon for 23 years and enjoyed reading, gardening, Bible study and creating a loving and caring home for her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Larry (Linda) Wollbrink of Concord, Va., Ellen Abernathy of Loraine, and Brenda (Aaron) Fields of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Joseph and Christopher Wollbrink of Concord, Hannah Abernathy of Loraine, and Tucker Fields of Knoxville; one sister, Thelma Rabe of Quincy; two sisters-in-law, Corine Seward of Quincy and Nadine Seward of Loraine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Otis and Carroll Seward; and three sisters, Mary Short, Edith Seward and Ruth Seward.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, in the Bethany United Church of Christ in Tioga, with the Rev. Hank Murray officiating. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery at Tioga.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.

MEMORIALS: Bethany United Church of Christ or the donor's choice.
