Darryl A. Voth, age 78, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 3:10 a.m. at Timber Point Healthcare Center in Camp Point, Illinois.
Darryl was born on July 12, 1947, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Richard R. and Doris J. (Stockhecke) Voth. He was raised in Mendon and graduated from Unity High School in 1965. He later graduated from Gem City College.
On October 21, 1972, Darryl married Janet Sue Ruths in Quincy, Illinois. Together they raised two beautiful children and she survives.
Darryl was admired for his strong work ethic and commitment to his family. He worked at Kohl Wholesale until he retired in 2012. After retirement, he drove for Hy-Vee until 2025. He was proud of his work and cherished the relationships he formed throughout his career.
Darryl excelled in his youth as an athlete, setting high school records in the 220 and 440 events in track and demonstrating talent in baseball, football, and track. His enthusiasm for sports continued with slow-pitch softball. He also enjoyed attending dirt track and stock car racing events. Darryl appreciated good home-cooked meals, had a fondness for ice cream, and treasured time spent with his family—especially when supporting the activities of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Darryl is survived by his children, Kesi (Christopher) Holbrook and Kent Voth of Quincy; grandsons Rush, Dennis, Bruce, Gibson, Louis, and Clark Holbrook of Quincy; sister Gloria Sue (Dick) McKinney of Quincy; brother Brent (Bon) Voth of Mendon; sister Brenda (Vern) Thompson of Peoria, Arizona; brother Dennis (Bev) Voth of Arkansas City, Kansas; lifelong friends Kent Terry, Fred Peters, Dan Rosencranz, and Jerry Hickey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois. Reverend Helen McFarland and Pastor Kent Terry will officiate. Burial will follow at Ursa New Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Unit Four.
