David Wayne Nichols, 67, of LaGrange, Missouri, passed away at home in LaGrange, Missouri on Wednesday December 28th, 2022. He was born May 21, 1955, in Quincy, Illinois the son of Dale L. and Dorothy I. Lymenstall Nichols. David married Dawn Marie Craft on January 15, 2013, in LaGrange, Missouri.
Survivors include his mother Dorothy Nichols of Ursa, a son Nathan Nichols of Banning, California, a grandson Justice Nichols, and a stepson, Eric Stover of Macomb, Illinois. He is also survived by four brothers Dan (his wife Brenda) Nichols of Mendon, Denny (and his wife Sandy) Nichols of Ursa, Jeff (and his wife Kathy of Stronghurst, and Jimmy Nichols of Ursa and numerous nieces and nephews and brother and sister in laws.
He is also survived by his in laws Don (Audrey) Craft, and Kenny Kruser.
He was preceded in death by his father Dale L. Nichols and mother in law Ferne Craft.
He was a graduate of Mendon High School the class of 1973.
He started working for Earl Kindhart in Earl’s Autobody Shop then he ventured on his own and opened his own Nichol’s Auto Body. Dave was gifted in his career and was featured with a car he painted a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS called “The Silver Rat” in a National Car Magazine and featured in “Snap On” Calendar.
He loved drawing mostly of cars and trucks and characters.
David loved riding his 2001 Harley Electra Glide Dresser and during his lifetime he made numerous trips to Sturgis South Dakota.
A casual celebration of David Nichol’s life will be on January 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 at the “Storeroom” in Mendon, Illinois.
