Erma L. Harms, 99, of the St. Vincent's Home, formerly of Sutter, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2014) in the home.

Erma was born Jan. 31, 1915, in Hancock County, to the late Herman and Elizabeth (Beeler) Wemhoner. She married Clarence Harms on Nov. 2, 1938. They celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2004. Clarence passed away on May 17, 2005.

Clarence and Erma retired from farming in 1998 and moved to Quincy. She was the oldest member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Tioga, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and Buckeye Clubs. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, word searches and reading and especially enjoyed visits from family and friends.

Surviving are two children, Mary Wilson of Quincy and Ivan Harms of Quincy; two grandchildren, Sandra (James) Lochman of Palmyra, Mo., and Dale (Suzi) Wilson of Quincy; seven great-grandchildren, LeAnna and Brett Wilson of Quincy, and Jesse, Micah, Avery, Riley and Bowen Lochman of Palmyra; and two nieces, Dorothy (Clarence) Steinkamp of Seguin, Texas, and Martha McClean of Quincy.

She was preceded in death by one brother, George Wemhoner; two sisters, Bertha Hufendick and Cora Neil; one son-in-law, Donald Wilson; and two nephews, Alfred and Paul Hufendick.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the Bethany United Church of Christ, Tioga, with the Rev. Hank Murray conducting. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery, Tioga.

VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, in the Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Bethany United Church of Christ or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
