GOLDEN, Ill. -- Geneva Marie Reuschel, 92, of Golden, died Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2012), in Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1920, in Houston Township, Adams County, a daughter of the late Harm G. and Emma Weertz Buss. She married George Philip Reuschel on Jan. 10, 1940, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden. He died March 4, 1996.

Geneva was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, where she was active in Ladies Guild and Quilting Circle. For many years, she was an election judge for Houston Township. She enjoyed quilting, latch hook, embroidery, word finds and reading. Geneva's life centered around her family and her church.

Surviving are eight children, Roger (Judy) Reuschel of Bowen, Alan (Gloria) Reuschel of Camp Point, Paul (Alene) Reuschel of Macomb, Rick (Barb) Reuschel of Renfrew, Pa., Dennis (Cathy) Reuschel of Estero, Fla., Gregory (Sue) Reuschel of Astoria, Terry (Becky) Reuschel of Camp Point and Susan (Roger) Alexander of Nokomis; 19 grandchildren, Shari (Jeff) Horras, Scott (Angie) Reuschel, Doug Reuschel, Amy (Mark) Evers, Kevin (Kari) Reuschel, Kristen (Curt) Shaffer, Tim (Cara) Reuschel, Courtney Pryor, Ashley Reuschel, Daryl Reuschel, Beth Reuschel, Kazie Reuschel, Katherine (Brian) Adams, Mark (Sara) Reuschel, Trevor (Claire) Reuschel, Emma Reuschel, Leah (Paul) Hamilton, Maggie Reuschel and Zachary Reuschel; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Albers of Golden; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden. The Rev. Barbara Ziah conducting. Interment will follow in Golden Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.

MEMORIALS: Golden Good Shepherd Home, Trinity Lutheran Church, or the Lutheran World Hunger Program.
