Ivan was born on Nov. 8, 1928, in Golden to the late Fred and Anna Garrelts Eicken. He married Almeda Shankland on Nov. 20, 1949, in Golden. Almeda of Golden survives.
Ivan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. He served on the Golden Fire Department, Golden Town Board, and the Water Commission.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, farming, gardening, outdoor activities and playing croquet and ping pong.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve (Carol) Eicken of Camp Point, and Dave (Julie) Eicken of Golden; three grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Lane of Hannibal, Mo., Jared (Celia) Eicken of Camp Point, Abbey Eicken of Quincy; six great-grandchildren, Madelyn Meyer, McKinnley Meyer, Jerssy Lane, Cassidy Lane, Natalie Eicken and Tatum Eicken; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Brooke Lane and Matthew Lane.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden, with the Rev. Barbara Ziah conducting. He will be laid to rest in the Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden.
VISITATION: 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Golden Good Shepherd Home, Blessing Foundation for Hospice, or the donor's choice.
