Janice L. Henning, 73, of Quincy, passed away, after a four-year battle with cancer, at 2:30 AM, on Friday, December 18, 2020 at her home.
She was born on Wednesday, June 18, 1947, a daughter of Robert and Lois (Lawrence) Onderbeke in Moline, IL. She married Joseph Henning, Sr. on October 4, 1969 in Rock Island, IL.
Janice is survived by her husband, Joseph Henning, Sr.; her mother, Lois Onderbeke; and two sons, Robert “Bob” Henning (Shannon) of Garden Grove, CA, and Joseph Henning, Jr. (Danyelle) of Quincy; grandchildren, Robert Henning II (Marina) of Garden Grove, CA, Nicole Genenbacher (Andrew) of Quincy, Natalie Henning of Quincy, Ashlyn Henning of Garden Grove, CA and Wilson Henning of Quincy; a great granddaughter that will make her appearance in February; one brother, Max Onderbeke (Colisa) of Two Rivers, WI and numerous extended family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Janice was a homemaker and the family manager. She was a member of Columbus Road Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the Quincy Deaf Club, where she served as secretary for many years. Janice enjoyed crocheting blankets for family. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She was a great cook and provided cookies to her family at Christmastime each year. She was passionate about reading love inspired books in her spare time.
Private Funeral Services will be held the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden with Pastor Bob Cowman officiating. Interment will follow at Golden Memorial Gardens. A recording of the service will be posted on the funeral home website after 5:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2020. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden. Memorials are suggested to Quincy Deaf Club or to the ISD school, at 125 Webster Ave., Jacksonville, IL. You are invited to share a memory of Janice and leave a condolence at www.hunterfh@adams.net
