John Thornton

John Carl Thornton, 53, of Quincy formerly of the Ursa area passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden.

John was born on November 29,1964 in Quincy to the late John “J.B” Benjamin and Lucille L. (Harwood) Thornton.

John graduated from Unity High School and attended John wood Community Collegewas a past member of Lima Masonic Lodge # 135 and the Ursa Christian Church. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing and cooking.

Surviving are; two sisters, Sharon (Allen) Harrison of Licking, Mo., Mary (Dan) Brown of Anderson, IN; nieces and nephews, Heath (Becca) Fields, Melissa (Kevin) Edwards, Karrie Gooding, Corey (Deanna) Fields, Michael (Brandie) Fields; great nieces and nephews, Alexis Edwards, Quintin Fields, Braydon Vent, Devon Edwards, Caylan Fields, Avery Fields, Adisyn Gooding, Shalynne Fields, Leana Farris, Blake Fields and Lane fields.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the Ursa Christian Church in Ursa with Pastor John Simpson officiating.
