Joyce Haistings

Joyce E. Haistings, 73, of Quincy passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Joyce was born on December 11, 1942 in Keokuk, IA. She was the daughter of the late Edwin W. and Helen M. (Miller) Wollbrink. She married Donald M. Haisitings on October 21, 1966 in the Bethany United Church of Christ in Tioga. Donald survives of Quincy.

In addition to her husband, Joyce, is survived by one son, Rob (Carol) Haistings of Quincy, one daughter, Tracy Haistings of Quincy, for grandchildren, Lucas (fiancé Amber Derhake) of Fowler, Emily Haistings of Coralville, IA., Alexis (Justin) Haughey of Payson, Zachary Haistings of Springfield, two great- grandchildren, Wyatt Haughey, Hadlee Haistings and one great- grandchild on the way. Also surviving are; one brother, Robert (Loretta) Wollbrink of Quincy.

She was preceded in death by one brother Dean Wollbrink and one sister, Joanne Cramsey.

Joyce worked in the Tea Room at Blessing Hospital for 20 years. She also owned and operated Joy’s Beauty Shop in Lima. She was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Ursa, Adams County Olde Tyme Association, Silver Dollar Square Dance Club and a member of the Ten Year club at Blessing Volunteer Services. She enjoyed Volunteering at Blessing Hospital, going on casino bus trips, square dancing, working crossword puzzles, crocheting, was an avid reader loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 5, 2016 in St. Paul United Church of Christ with Reverend Keela Neumann officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery near Mendon. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial contributions have been suggested to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
