QUINCY -- Kyle J. Starman, 60, of Quincy, died Thursday (March 12, 2015), at his home.

Kyle was born June 29, 1954, in Quincy. He was a son of Leaton R. and Georgeann M. Dedert Starman.

He married Jillian Dunford on May 15, 1977, in Quincy. Jillian survives in Quincy.

Kyle was the owner of Star Construction in Quincy and farmed with his father. He was a graduate of Unity High School in Mendon and attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he played the trumpet in the marching band.

He was a past junior church leader at Columbus Road Baptist Church in Quincy. He was a past Boy Scout Leader, Special Olympics coach and volunteer with the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He was a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau.

In addition to his wife, Kyle is survived by five children, Gregory O. Starman of Valrico, Fla., Nicholas A. Starman, Elizabeth A. (Alan B.) Rischar, Christopher E. Starman and Victoria J. Starman, all of Quincy; one grandchild, Roxanne Starman of Quincy; two aunts, Carlene M. Dedert of Quincy, Wilma Starman of Camp Point; and one uncle, Milton Starman of Mannito.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kim Starman; and one sister, Michelle Starman.

SERVICES: Private family services will be held at a later date.

VISITATION: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, in the Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon.

MEMORIALS: Blessing Cancer Center or the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

ARRANGEMENTS: Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon.
