Merna "Delores" Kendrick

Merna Delores Kendrick, 92, of Quincy and formerly of Mendon, passed away at 10:05 am on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Sunset Home in Quincy.

She was born on July 22, 1930 in Quincy, the daughter of the late Frederic & Adrain Worman. She attended and graduated from Unity High School in Mendon. Delores married Joseph Garrish Kendrick on May 5, 1948 in Mount Sterling and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2018.

Delores worked alongside her husband for several years, owning and operating the Kendrick Gas Station and Garage in Mendon. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Mendon, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Some of Delores’s hobbies included, ceramics, dancing, country music and she loved to go on bus trips and travelling.

She is survived by her sons; Danny (Kay) Kendrick of Copperas Cove, Texas, Frederick (Marsha) Kendrick of Quincy, Ronald Kendrick of Mendon and by James (Kim) Kendrick of Youngsville, North Carolina, a sister; Jacqueline “Jackie” Summy of Mendon, a brother; Larry (Shirley) Worman of Quincy, a daughter in-law; Sheli Kendrick of Citrus Springs, Florida, a sister in-law; Joyce Worman of Quincy and by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Delores was preceded in death by a son; Jeffery Kendrick, a grandson; Travis Jo Kendrick, a brother; Robert Worman, a sister; Darlene Bengtson and by a daughter in-law; Judy Kendrick.

Graveside services honoring Delores’s life will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Mendon Cemetery in Mendon. Pastor Jeff Corson will officiate. The Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon has been entrusted with the care and arrangements. Memorial contributions in memory of Delores are suggested to the Sunset Home of Quincy.
