Phyllis Marlow

Phyllis J. Marlow, age 93, formerly of Golden and Quincy, IL passed away peacefully at Springbrook Village, La Crescent, MN under the warm and compassionate care of Springbrook Village and Moments Hospice.

Phyllis was born October 13, 1931, in Rushville, IL to Henry and Millie Icenogle. On April 9, 1950, she married Dwaine Marlow in Rushville. The couple made their home in Golden where they lived and raised their family. They later moved to Quincy, IL.

Phyllis worked for District 3 in many capacities, with final position as secretary to the district’s Superintendent. Phyllis was an active member in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Golden and later in St. James Lutheran church, Quincy participating as Sunday School teacher as well as numerous service and social activities. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for others.

Phyllis was an avid quilter, making many quilts and throws for family and friends. She also enjoyed various activities including bowling , boating and golf.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Pati Marlow of La Crescent, Minnesota and Beth Frye of Chesapeake, Virginia and two grandchildren Hailey Frye of La Crosse, WI and Luke Frye of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Dwaine, two children, Lynn Ellen and David Dwaine and one brother, Wayne Icenogle.

Funeral service will on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Triplett Funeral Home, Golden, IL with Pastor Rempfer officiating. Visitation will be held Friday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Golden Memorial Garden. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Golden Community Center, Golden. Condolences may be given at www.triplettfuneralhomes.com
