FOWLER, Ill. -- Rodney Dean Kindhart, 56, of Fowler, formerly of Golden, died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 8, 2009) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Rodney was born on May 11, 1953, in Quincy to Virgil and Edith Weaver Kindhart. He married Lynda Cantrell on June 30, 1973, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Coatsburg. Lynda survives of Fowler. After graduating from Camp Point Central High School in 1971, Rodney owned and operated Rod's 66 Gas Station and Kindhart's Used Cars. Later, Rodney worked for his father at Kindhart Implement Co. in Golden until the business closed in 1985. Then he worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic. In his early years, he loved tractor pulls and drag racing cars. He was a member of the Jaycees in Golden, loved boating at the Lake of the Ozarks and fishing. Rodney was a man who always spoke his mind and you always knew where you stood with him. Rodney leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Lynda Kindhart of Fowler; three children, Melissa Kay Zaccagnini and her husband, Mike, of Henderson, Nev., Timothy Dean Kindhart and his wife, Mariah, of Golden and Jeffrey Craig Kindhart and Brittany Flynn of Coatsburg; three grandchildren, Ava Grace Zaccagnini, Jason Andrew Zaccagnini and Dustin Dean Kindhart; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat and Jim Taute of Golden, Jerry and Patty Cantrell of Brownsburg, Ind., Betty and Michael Harberts of Middletown, and Donald and Cheryl Cantrell of Coatsburg; mother-in-law, Marylyn Cantrell of Coatsburg; bestest friends, Corey, Lisa, Brayden, and Brennan Luckhaupt of Fowler; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger Kindhart; and one brother, Virgil, in infancy. SERVICES: a private celebration of Rodney's life will be held Thursday with Pastor Mickey Farlow conducting. Burial will be in Golden Memorial Gardens, Golden. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden.
