Ronald Dean Parn, 82, of Camp Point, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. 

Ronnie was born on October 4, 1940, to Roy "Delbert" and Irene Parn (Flesner).  One of 4 children, Ronnie was baptized on October 13, 1940, and attended Immanuel Parochial School, later graduating from Central High School. After his time in the US Army, Ron settled into farm life.   

He married Sharon Kay Robertson on June 2, 1963, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden, Illinois, and served on the Church Council Board.  Together they raised 4 daughters and Ronnie enjoyed helping them with showing their pigs at the Adams County Fair, as well as going on tractor drives in the Tri-State area. Ronnie loved his collection of antique Ford tractors and spending time playing cards, boating, horse riding and travelling with his friends. Ronnie also liked going deer hunting with his grandkids and sons-in-laws. 

Ronnie is survived by Sharon, his loving wife of 59 years; daughters, Theresa (Greg) Thompson of Quincy, Illinois, Julie (Jim) Hardy, also of Quincy, Illinois, Valerie (Gene) Flesner, of West Point, Illinois, and Gena (Ryan) Seberg, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; grandchildren, Siera (Ethan) Duesterhaus, Hunter, (Samantha) Thompson, Kutter Thompson, Nicholas (Kirstin) Hardy, Lakin (Ben) Holtschlag, Kellen (Rachel) Hardy, Sheena (Corey) Ramsey, Shianne (Zachary) Allen, Shea (and fiancé, Rylie) Flesner, Shad Flesner, Rylan Seberg, Regan Seberg, Ralyn Seberg, and  Reean Seberg; great-grandchildren Skyler and Scarlett Duesterhaus, Lainey Thompson, Stella and Olivia Hardy, Pearl, Paisley, and William “Duke” Ramsey, Westlynn, Willa, and Waverley Allen; brothers, Larry (Jackie) Parn, Leland (Judy) Parn; and sister,  Nina (Wayne) Howe; and many other family and friends.  Ron's family would also like to thank all of his caregivers, especially Kandy Yocum for all of her assistance in providing care and comfort.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services for Ronnie will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, with interment to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. 

There will be a visitation for Ronnie at Triplett Funeral Home in Golden, Illinois between 5:00pm and 7:00pm, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. 

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the Mayo Clinic.
