Timothy Higley

GOLDEN, Ill. -- Timothy Lee Higley, 51, of Elberta, Ala., formerly of Golden, died March 10, 2011, in the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, Foley, Ala.

Timothy was born on Feb. 8, 1960, in Quincy to David and Barbara Herren Higley.

Timothy was a 1978 graduate of Central High School and was of the Methodist faith.

Timothy was a past chairperson of the Special Olympics, loved playing golf, playing baseball and softball, riding his motorcycle, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

In addition to his parents, David and Barbara Higley of Golden, Timothy is survived by two sons, Jason S. Higley and Mark E. Higley, both of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two stepchildren, Amber Chesterfield and April Hurley; three stepgrandchildren, Tyler Hurley, Madison Hurley and Hayden Jakop; a brother, Mathew Higley and his friend, Sarah Gordy, of Quincy; a sister, Tammy Hildebrand and her husband, Greg, of Mendon; a nephew, Chase Hildebrand of Mendon; and a niece, Jordan Hildebrand of Mendon.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; and a brother, Mark Higley.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden, with the Rev. Jim Trutwin conducting. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery near Golden.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.

MEMORIALS: Panther Pride Foundation at Camp Point Central, American Heart Association or the Ebenezer Cemetery Association.
