Wanda Maxine Leenerts, 87, of Golden, IL, formerly of Clayton, died at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Golden Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
Wanda was born on July 19, 1934, in La Prairie, IL, the daughter of Victor Edward and Kate Etta (Herren) Hapke. She married Roy Elmer Leenerts on May 18,1954 in Golden.
Wanda attended Elm Grove School and Central High School. She was a Secretary for the Adams County housing, and was the founding director of the Community for Christ Assistance Center in Camp Point.
Her memberships include WELCA-Trinity, American Legion Auxiliary, RSVP and the Golden Good Shepherd Home Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; and a brother, Marcellus Hapke.
Wanda is survived by her sons: David (Karrie) Leenerts of Clayton, Lloyd (Brenda) Leenerts of Clayton, Roger (Mary) Leenerts of Fowler and Ronald Leenerts and Dee Ross of Clayton; grandchildren: Tonya (Marshall) Beatty, Scott Leenerts, Chris Leenerts, Andrew Leenerts, Margaret (Cole) Lanning, Beth Pendergraff, Tina (Brian) Summers, and Kenneth (Dawn) Leenerts , great grandchildren: Seth, Shea and James Beatty, Alexander, Jacob and Katherine Leenerts, Landon Randolph, Harper, Charlie and Maxine Lanning, Brian Summers Jr., Caitlyn Summers and Roy and Gloria Leenerts.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15,2022 at Triplett Funeral Home in Golden.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16,2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, with Rev. Tom Graves officiating.
Burial will follow at Golden Memorial Gardens
