William "Bill" Moore

William F. “Bill” Moore, 83, of West Point, Illinois, passed away at 5:33 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois. He was born on August 14, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa, a son of Raymond L. and Helen V. (Fader) Moore. He married Delores F. Andrew on June 26, 1960, at the Christian Church in West Point, Illinois. She survives.  

Bill attended Lima Grade School.  He graduated from Unity High School.  He was a farmer.  He worked as a feed salesman for MoorMan’s and ADM for twenty-three years.  He was a past volunteer fireman, served as a St. Alban’s Township Trustee, and on several church committees. Bill was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Bowen, Illinois.  He spent several years serving funeral diners at the church.

Bill had a passion for collecting and refurbishing pedal tractors.  He loved to go to sales with his John Deere Gator.  He enjoyed family gatherings and visiting people.  Bill never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; sons, Curtis (Dotty) Moore of Clayton, Illinois, and Leslie (Lisa) Moore of Mendon, Illinois; grandson, Joshua (Traci) Moore of Clayton; great grandson, Wyette Moore of Clayton, Illinois; sister, Patricia Denny of Naperville, Illinois; brother, Richard Moore of LaMonte, Missouri.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson, Logan Wayne Lee Moore.

Family Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois.  Family members are welcome to attend from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Sheri Renner to officiate. Interment will follow at the New Providence Cemetery in Ursa, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Carthage Memorial Hospital.
